January 2010 Newsletter

2010 promises to be a year of successes and blessings in the Lord! We look back at where
we’ve come from and where God has taken us as we enter our 5th year as a ministry and we are
truly amazed at what God has done! Through the combined efforts and generosity of all who have
sown into this mission we at TMTY feel obligated to share a brief history and the new vision that
God has given us. We really started getting busy reaching out just a few years ago with a pick-up
truck, a borrowed trailer, a friend at a furniture store and hearts to help some people in real need.
We got involved with re-entry programs, single moms and the refugees from Myanmar (Burma)
and we began supplying furniture, clothes, kitchen wares, and coats and then began taking our
music, testimonies, and God’s Gospel into the county jail and Chapel services and into awareness
raising concert/ministry events and through these efforts we’ve watched the Karen people of
Myanmar become independent and self-sufficient as a community of believers connected with
other churches and ministries who have aided them in getting medical and dental needs met. God
did that!

This ministry since then has been invited to bring God’s message out into many other areas
of the U.S. to other cultures and crossing over all denominational lines we have tried to be obedient
and faithful to His call. One specific area where we were especially privileged to serve last year
was the Navajo Christian Leadership Center in Thoreau, NM. a camp for the purpose of
ministering to the Navajo children and youth. We were able to help them complete an all purpose
bldg (The Bam Project) which was literally a livestock bam complete with stalls and a dirt floor,
and turned it into a place of worship, preaching and teaching for this community equipped with a
fully functional kitchen and climate control! We were even able to pour a basketball court outside
for the summer camps! All the while we were all praying for the Navajo men to be touched by the
Holy Spirit to step up and become the leaders of their people that God ordained them to be. TMTY
was invited in 2009 to be part of training Navajo men to be pastors and because of those who
believed in our mission, we were able to supply 50 study bibles to give out at that training seminar.
Navajo people came from the 4 comer states to engage with us in the event. Your support, prayers
and confidence in God’s providence helped us to raise the awareness once again of the need and
now the NCLC is being supported by other ministries and churches taking this mission above and
beyond our wildest imagination! Praise be to God!

TMTY continues to take the message out to jails, prisons, rehab programs, homeless shelters, nursing homes, hospice care and home visits and our latest focus for 2010 brings us to the juuvenile detention centers. Young men primarily, are in great need of mentors hip and these “boys” are for the most part hungry for leadership from someone who earnestly cares about them. The old story of no father, or no parents that are involved or they have so many problems of their own they can’t raise a youngster properly or they just don’t know how or can’t. For the past two years we have been going to Ferris School for Boys in Wilmington, DE on a regular schedule with the Christian Motorcyclist’s Association! Good News Travelers’ chapter and have seen dozens upon dozens of boys make decisions for Christ. How exciting! Praise Him! The challenge here is that once they are released they go back to the environment they left and they have no one to support their new faith or come alongside to encourage and disciple them to Christian maturity. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if someone would make the commitment to do that? TMTY has decided that we will do this to God’s glory this year and we will be teaming up with GNT, other counselors, ministries, youth ministers and churches to help us move this forward into an exciting and fruitful ministry from God. He has given His stamp of approval through conviction of the Holy Spirit and we are humbled by His grace, finding us worthy to be of further service to Him. This will of course take much work and we will need everyone to pitch in again this year with their resources, finances and prayers. Please support our events, those who can help in anyway are invited and welcome to come
alongside us. Through Me To You is a phrase we can all utter to the Glory of God. There are so
many details and challenges to a program like this, there isn’t room or time to include all of it in
this letter, but be assured that we are ready and willing to answer all questions, receive all ideas and
constructive criticisms as we grow in this new mission. We need you to stand with us.
